Day 2 - Sedro Woolley, WA - Winthrop, WA

Excerpts from last nights conversation:

Joel: "So Lon, how much climbing is there tomorrow?"
Lon: uh, about 50 miles.

a little later in the evening…
Joel: So I asked Lon how much climbing there is tomorrow.
Shuli: What did he say?
Joel: He said about 50 miles
Shuli: uh oh.

Today was spectacularly lovely ride. A good portion of the 128 miles was spent crossing the North Cascades National Park. Beautiful mountains and many roadside waterfalls that seemed to spring out of nowhere.

btw - those 50 miles of climbing translates into more than 7800 feet of climbing!

128 miles
7844 ft. of climbing
Exiting one of our rest stops.

On the way to the Cascades.

Endless beauty.

We crossed 2 passes - Rainy Pass and Washington Pass.

Don't let the snow fool you - it was HOT!

Descending Washington Pass - amazing views abound.
